The Rotary Club of Chennai Central Elite was chartered on 30 May 2016 by the Rotary Club of Madras Central.
The primary vision behind the formation of our club was to bring together all the Annettes of Rotary Club of Madras Central under the umbrella of Rotary. We were proudly chartered as the youngest club in our district, with 33 charter members.
Rtn. Ankur Khandelwal, an active Annette of Rotary Club of Madras Central, served as our first President and is credited with the formation of our illustrious club. Over the years, distinguished personalities from various business communities and professional backgrounds have become members of Rotary Club of Chennai Central Elite. Guided by the spirit of bonding and fellowship, our membership has grown consistently year after year, crossing the milestone of 50 active members in 2026.
Our club strongly believes in meaningful and sustainable service initiatives that contribute to the growth and development of the surrounding community. Some of our major projects include:

Adopting government schools in nearby localities and improving their infrastructure through the establishment of computer labs, playground facilities, new classroom blocks, toilet blocks, and wash basin installations to promote hygiene. We also provide stationery and school bags to children whenever required.

Installation of more than seven dialysis machines and facilitating free dialysis treatment for the underprivileged and needy.

Conducting regular health and medical camps for school children, including free dental and eye check-ups on school campuses.

Installation of smart boards in classrooms of government and aided schools to support modern education.

Donation of more than 100 beds to government hospitals.
Through these and many other impactful initiatives over the years, our club’s total investment in service projects has reached nearly Rs.5 crore.
Apart from community service, our club has been successfully organizing the Rotary Special Sports event since 2017, initiated during the presidency of Rtn. Rahul Bathija. This unique event brings together more than 2,000 underprivileged children with disabilities from government schools and children’s homes every year for a full day of specially designed sports and track events. To date, we have successfully completed five seasons of this initiative, spreading smiles and joy to more than 10,000 children.
